Samael is not the name of God. The name(s) of God are...

Creator of Paradise

Lord of Serpent and Reeds

Holy Mother

Let me repeat. Samael is NOT one of the names for the God.

My question is simple: why we often meet the Samael -image in game if it not the God of the cult?

P.S. You dont need to repeat the names of cult's God again;)

The name Samael is a red herring. It was a lie created by Dahlia to trick Harry.

This thought was clear from your first post. But I ask about the other. In the game "Silent Hill" we often see the image of Samael. The Picture, portrait. The drawn scene of Samael. I dont ask 'bout Dahlia's tricks. Now I dont care 'bout it. I ask 'bout IMAGE, PORTREIT of Samael. Why it is in the game?

Who says it's "Samael"? If you take a look at the LM and the stuff from either of the games you won't find this name associated to any of the cult's gods -- only to the Seal of Metatron. If something the name would be Incubus (like it says in the Lost Memories) or Baphomet (as the fans like to call it).

Now, talking about Origins, I hate to say that but it seems to me they (Climax) really mean it (imply as a new canon) -- "Samael" is the name of the God Dahlia worshipped. blinksmiley.gif And yeah, no doubt that memo was written by the opponents which is quite obvious from the last paragraph.

Note on the Ritual
...it is believed a being of tremendous mental energy may become a vessel capable of giving birth to Samael, the God worshipped by this cult.

Samael's arrival will bring forth Paradise on Earth.

(Something has been added in the margin)

Given that this vessel is to be molded with "suffering and pain", just what kind of God and what kind of "paradise" would result?

Except that memo was written by someone outside of the Order. In fact I'm placing my money on the idea that it was the costume designer for The Tempest who wrote this memo.

Because that's not Samael. It's "Incubus"

Ok, let it'll be Incubus. Maybe now you can say - why is this image (the image of Incubus, yeah) THERE, if, as you said - the God of cult is:
Creator of Paradise or Lord of Serpent and Reeds or Holy Mother? What for is that image there?

(Sorry for my horrible English)

That must have been one hell of a costume designer to know such things! smile.gif Don't you think it should've been a religious opponent? I mean it would take an ardent Christian that really hates the Order and did a pretty extensive research comparable to Joseph Schreiber' to write something like that, wouldn't you agree?

And about Incubus... it seems that different factions of the cult have different ideas about the God. The demon-like form of Incubus was worshipped by the group centered around Dahlia. The Lost Memories calls it "Incubus" so we have a reason to believe it's the right name... but, it also might've been the name used by the opponents of the Order so that Dahlia and her followers still called it "Creator of Paradise" or "Lord of Serpent and Reeds" -- we can't be sure since she never called it by any name except "God".

In Artuad theater there's a memo concerning the costume design for the characters of The Tempest. The writer of the memo mentions that "Jack" has said, that the town is located on old spiritual ground.

Another memo talks about the costume for Caliban and it being influenced by the buffalo and the stark iconic images of the ancient cult of Valtiel.

Another memo in the costume storage room talks about the writer (of the memo) seeing the Butcher *who looks like the Executioner* in his hotel room. In riverside hotel we come across the room with all of the drawings of the Butcher and the Executioner, and it is here that we find the note concerning the ritual.

If you pay attention to the tone of the writing it's not coming from a Christian. The memo sounds like it's coming from someone who is outside of the Order, but still researching them.

Over at another forum BM mentioned that the name of the God in SH1 is not actually Incubus. Incubus is actually the name of the type of creature that comes out of Alessa/Incubator.

There's three of us at this other forum that are starting to think that the real name of the God is "Xuchilpaba"
