I've that each of the words are written in Greek. The word written on the left wing is Aoraz, and the word written on the right wing is Zaroa.
So, I did some google surfing & I found this interesting link... http://www.ou.org/to...4/tazmetz64.htm
So the wing with Zaroa indicates the concieving of a child. So may Aoraz means the oppisite? To plant the seed, perhaps? But how could something Incubate a child & also plant it?

Here's the image:
Actually buta_hill nailed it pretty much about Zaroa. Those are Greek letters, and it seems it has something to do with Jewism.
Here's something regarding this Saroa:
www.hanogimatatrust.org/Other_Temples.php
So looks they are in fact actual names and are related to differant mythos.
About the meaning of Zaroa.
It means something like "concieving of a child" (or "planting the seed" -- which is the same of course). So the opposite would be extracting of the mature fetus (birth) -- that goes for the Aoraz (Aoras). And now let's look at the description of demon incubus:
http://en.wikipedia....Incubus_(demon)
So, I see it like this: Incubus the one who conceives the seed (fetus) and at the same time he's the one who got birthed! Just like Alessa's "Mother of God. Daughter of God"!

And it's not z or s either - on the second picture it was well visible, that letter is τ [tau]
Dunno, what could it mean, anyway. On the original Baphomet's image created by Eliphas Levi, the arms of demon bear the Latin words SOLVE (dissolve) and COAGULA (congeal), so that we've got 2 ask Konami what the hell have they put that freakin' word on the God's wings 4

About Incubus and Baphomet.
Silent Hill's Incubus is only visually based on Baphomet. If you look at the (at least) Wiki' descriptions of Baphomet and Incubus you'll see: they're not the same.
Even on the images there's a serious difference between Baphomet and Incubus: Baphomet has it's arms pointed one up and down (meaning: "As above, so below"). Incubus has one hand atop its breast, and the other one is holding it's foot.
So Baphomet has little to do with this creature (SH1' Incubus). It just looks similar, that's all. This could be from Alessa seeing a picture of Baphomet (the one in the "other church" actually) and her subconscious uses this as a basis for the monster she dreams is living inside her.
Nevertheless, SH1' Incubus IS modeled after Baphomet -- maybe just because his appearence is the most recognizable.
______________
But again, I agree that those letters need further clarification. Maybe later I'll come up with some new stuff.
